Yoh Fest Mission
To contribute to a healthier Western Australia through enabling a health-aware, youth peer-educator population that will educate and influence the wider youth audience to make informed, healthy lifestyle choices.
Yoh Fest Objectives
The key objectives of YOH Fest are to engage communities in the arts and to educate and empower young people throughout the State to enable them to make positive and healthy life choices. Participating youth not only gain a greater insight into the positive impact of healthy life choices – both on themselves and on society as a whole, they also gain leadership skills, self confidence, respect for their peers, and a greater understanding of youth issues in general.
YOH Fest has adopted the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound) method of setting the following objectives for the 4 year period 2011 – 2015:
Objective 1:
To increase active participation in YOH Fest’s performing arts festival by 30% by the year 2015.
Objective 2:
To extend the geographical reach of YOH Fest to the following regions of West Australia by 2015:
- Gascoyne Regions
- Pilbara Region
- Wheatbelt Region
- Mid-West Region
- South West Region
- Great Southern Region
Objective 3:
To measure and evaluate YOH Fest’s impact on participants knowledge, attitudes and perceptions by 2015.
Objective 4:
To have in place, secure sustainable, long term funding partnerships by 2015.
Objective 5:
To extend YOH Fest’s geographical reach to one National event by 2015.
Objective 6:
To have increased Indigenous participation by 50% by the year 2015.
Objective 7:
To increase Male participation by 50% by the year 2015.
